We provide water testing for private wells at the following times:

• Monday  | 8:30 am - 3:00 pm

Fees: $40 per Water Test

Private Well Grant

The Private Well Grant was established in 1987 when our legislature passed the Iowa Groundwater Protection Act to help prevent further contamination of one of Iowa’s most precious resources; our groundwater.

Funds are made available to local county health departments to provide financial assistance to their residents for private well water services.

Private Well Grants Program (DNR)

Private Well Grant Funds will not be available until July 1, 2025. Private Well Water Testing is still availble through our Department for a $40.00 fee per test.
