Secondary Roads Shop Foreman

The Foreman plays a critical role in overseeing daily operations within the Secondary Roads shop environment. This position requires a strong leader who can effectively manage a team, supervising and coordinating the activities of shop personnel to ensure repairs and maintenance of all county equipment used in road maintenance in the secondary road department are performed efficiently and in adherence to shop policies and safety standards, including occasional maintenance and repairs by the Foreman when necessary. This position also performs inventory and orders of supplies and materials as necessary to sustain the operation of the equipment and shop.

Job Description

Successful candidates must have

Iowa Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), with air brakes and tractor-trailer certification
Technical Degree in diesel mechanics, or equivalent mechanical experience
Five (5) years supervisory or management experience, preferred
Knowledge of heavy construction and maintenance equipment

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to drive operational success and foster a collaborative work atmosphere.

This is a full-time position offering a salary range of $68,000 - $73,000 based on qualifications and experience.
