PRN Correctional / Transport Officer
The Jackson County Sheriff's Office is seeking female correctional officers to meet minimum staffing requirements for housing female inmates. While we are primarily looking for female applicants, qualified male applicants may also apply, as we will consider the best available applicant for the position.
This is a PRN (on-call / fill-in) position providing high quality security, care and direct supervision of inmates during all phases of activity in a correctional facility, as well as transport activities when coverage is needed. This role is perfect for individuals who value flexibility and want to make a meaningful impact without committing to a fixed schedule.
Starting wage is $22.94 per hour, increasing to $24.22 after six months and to $25.48 after one year.
Available positions may be filled as soon as a qualified candidate is identified and will remain open until filled.
Must be atleast 18 years of age, possess a valid Iowa driver's license and be insurable under county policy.
Pre-employment physical and background check required.
