What is COVID-19?


A global respiratory illness that was discovered in late 2019 causing very severe illness and death in some; and very minor (or no) symptoms in others. Coronavirus (COVID-19) is caused by a coronavirus called SARS-CoV-2. It is an illness that can be spread person to person. The virus that causes COVID-19 is a new coronavirus that has spread throughout the world. The disease is present in all 99 counties of Iowa.
